By Breaking Belize News staff: An escalating family dispute left a Belize City man with a criminal charge of damage to property this week.
Fifty-two-year-old Robert Crown appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He stands accused of causing damage to a water pipe valued at $75. When asked by the Senior Magistrate about his relationship with the complainant, Crown explained that she is his nephew’s wife and that they live in the same yard in separate houses.
Crown was granted bail in the sum of $800 plus one surety of the same, with strict instructions that he is not to have any contact with the complainant.
He is due back in court on November 16, 2022 for disclosure.
