By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “The Nohoch Che’en, ATM, and Caracol Archaeological Reserves are now open for visitation,” said the Institute of Archaeology at the National Institute of Culture and History (IA/NICH).
“The Barton Creek Archaeological Reserve remains closed.”
IA/NICH said all other archaeological reserves are open.
The IA/NICH said it will continue monitoring river conditions and provide necessary updates. At the same time, the archaeology organization advised visitors to the archaeological site to always exercise caution and to be aware of weather conditions and the possibility of flash floods.
