San Pedro Pirates-Verdes headlines PLB’s three Saturday night games

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The battle for second place between the San Pedro Pirates and Verdes headlines the Premier League of Belize’s (PLB) three Saturday night games.

Verdes are currently in second place with 22 points, same as the Pirates, but one goal gives them the edge over the islanders despite having played one more game. Verdes have scored 16 goals and allowed seven while San Pedro have scored 16 and allowed eight.

Their encounter tonight at 7:30 pm at Ambergris Stadium should untangle things if either team wins. A draw will keep the status quo.

Elsewhere tonight, Altitude host Wagiya in the Battle of the South in Independence while the Bandits will play at home at the Isidoro Beaton against Benque United. Both games also start at 7:30 pm.

Progresso play Port Layola at 4:00 pm on Sunday in Orange Walk.
