Seine Bight, Griga, Hopkins win on opening day of FFB’s Travel Belize Beach Soccer Cup

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Christ Warriors Seine Bight, Griga United, and Hopkins Ibayani won their matches on opening day of FFB’s Travel Belize Beach Soccer Cup at Hopkins on Saturday.

The Christ Warriors doubled up on the Cayo Selection 6-3. Devin Guzman and Terin Major scored a brace each while Valeak Valerio and Jaheim Mena powered one each. Jared Jeff converted two for Cayo. Armin Lopez hit the other.

Griga United got a comfortable 5-2 victory over the Belize District Football Association City Rookies. Evan Mariano scored two. Ramon Olmedo, Byron Ferrel, and Raymond Ramos converted the other three. Hubert Baptist and Gilbert Gomez scored for the City Rookies.

Hopkins Ibayani closed out the day with a 7-1 whipping of Corozal FC. Wayne Ford and Elton Gordon nailed a brace each for Hopkins while Khaleel Lopez, James Martinez, and Felix Martinez got the others. Angel Gutierrez scored Corozal FC’s lone goal.

The championship continues on Saturday at Seine Bight.
