Man who chopped his cousin’s pinky finger off charged for maim

By Benjamin Flowers: A 38-year-old resident of La Gracia Village, Cayo District, has been charged for cutting off one of his own cousin’s fingers, and almost cutting off several others.

Today, police formally arrested and charged Esau Castillo for the crime of maim.

The victim, 27-year-old Fernando Castillo, reported to police that on Sunday, October 16, he was riding his motorcycle between La Gracia Village and Valley of Peace Village when Esau attacked him with a machete cutting off his left pinky finger, partially amputating his left ring finger, left middle finger, and cutting his right hand.
