Roaring Creek youths charged for robbing farmer of his shotgun

By Benjamin Flowers: Police have arrested and charged two youths from Roaring Creek Village, Cayo District, in connection with an armed robbery on Thursday, October 13.

On Tuesday, October 18, 19-year-old Jaheem Thomas was charged with two counts of robbery and aggravated assault; while 22-year-old Derry Bennett, was charged with robbery.

The 44-year-old victim reported that around 6:00 p.m.that day, he had gone to his farm on the Hummingbird Highway, and took his 16-gauge shotgun with him. While riding back home on his bicycle the duo reportedly ambushed him and robbed him of his weapon at gunpoint.

Following the incident, police issued wanted posters for both men.
