University of Guyana students visit Belize City Council

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Students from the University of Guyana recently visited the Belize City Council.

Councilors Stephanne Hamilton, Javier Castellanos, and Deannie Requeña welcomed the students to City Hall for an information-sharing session highlighting best practices in governance.

Students had the privilege to learn about the vital roles that the Council holds in ensuring that this municipality’s infrastructural, social and economic needs are met.

The students also had an opportunity to share experiences on how sustainability, youth development, and transparency are integral to municipal development.

“As a council, we remain open to opportunities to share information and be part of the development of socially conscious, sustainable, and safe municipalities within Belize and the region,” the Belize City Council said.
