By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Cabinet has joined in extending congratulations to the Belizean students from Belize High School who won a gold medal at the FIRST Global Challenge International Robotics Competition in Geneva, Switzerland.
A celebration rally was held on Wednesday and was attended by Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, Francis Fonseca.
Fonseca expressed his teeming pride in the students and their teachers and reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to advancing Science and Technology across our education system.
The FIRST Global Challenge is a yearly Olympics-style robotics competition organized by the International First Committee Association.
The challenge promotes Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education and careers for youth.
