On Tuesday, Belize fell to Guatemala 0-3 (21-25, 11-25, 25-19, 10-25). The third set in that game is the only one Belize have won in the competition. Prior to the Guatemala game, Belize lost 0-3 (16-25, 19-25,17-25) to Panama on Thursday and 0-3 (19-25, 12-25, 20-25) to El Salvador on Monday.
In the other games on Wednesday, Costa Rica beat Honduras 3-0 (25-21, 28-26, 25-16) while El Nicaragua dropped Salvador 3-1 (28-30, 25-22, 25-19, 25-15).
Guatemala lead with a 3-0 record for 12 points. El Salvador are 2-1 for 10 points while Nicaragua at 2-0 total 8 points.
Costa Rica have seven points from a 1-1 record while Panama have six from a similar record.
Honduras and Belize trail with one point each from three consecutive losses.
After the Belize-Costa Rica game today, Panama take on El Salvador at 4:00 pm while Nicaragua close against Guatemala in what could very well be the championship game.
After today, Belize will have two games left: against Honduras on Saturday at 2:00 pm and against Nicaragua on Monday at 6:00 pm.
The regional championship is organized under the banner of the Central American Volleyball Federations Association (AFECAVOL).
