By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Jungle Warfare Instructor Course (JWIC) concluded on Friday, October 14, 2022.
Twelve officers from the Belize Defence Force (BDF) participated in the 7-week course that was held at Guacamallo, Mountain Pine Ridge.
Lessons taught were health and hygiene, signals, navigation, orders, rappelling, survival, riverine, and many more jungle and military operational tactics.
The course was designed with a vast knowledge of surviving and intense training in mountainous jungle terrain.
“This rigorous training is internationally recognized. In order to complete such a course, one needs to be physically and mentally prepared,” the BDF noted.
The BDF extended congratulations to all participants and recognized top achievers, Cpl. Chun M, 1st place, Cpl. Peck I, 2nd place, and Cpl. Pop L, 3rd place.
The BDF said that it remains committed to providing proper and advanced training for its members.
