By Aaron Humes: This afternoon Quality Poultry Products (QPP) will inaugurate a solar-powered bus shed on the Stann Creek Valley Road in Dangriga Town.
The company says the donation fulfils two purposes: a demonstration of its commitment to being environmentally friendly, and offering a greater level of comfort for travelers.
As it states, “A bus shed is more than a place where buses stop to pick up passengers; it is a place of community, a place to catch up on the latest news and events happening around, or in Belizean language a place to catch up on the latest shush.” Not to mention, it added a handy place of shelter from rain and the sun and the wind.
The new shed helps bring customers to the expanded business hub of the Valley Road entering Dangriga and will hopefully drum up business from customers who utilize this means of commuting on a daily basis.
Quality Poultry’s office in Dangriga is also solar-powered, a renewable source of power that plays an important role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating climate change, which is critical to protecting humans, wildlife, and ecosystems.
