By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “Xunantunich and ATM [Actun Tunichil Muknal] Archaeological Reserves remain closed due to elevated river conditions,” said the Institute of Archaeology/National Institute of Culture and History (IA/NICH).
The Nohoch Che’en Reserve opened at 10:00 a.m. today.
“All other archaeological reserves are open for visitation,” said IA/NICH.
The IA/NICH said it will continue monitoring river conditions and provide necessary updates and advised visitors to the national reserves to exercise caution, be aware of weather conditions and the possibility of flash floods.
