Accident victim in southern Belize identified by his aunt

By Benjamin Flowers: The John Doe who died in a traffic accident in Southern Belize on Friday has been identified.

Police say that 50-year-old Rita Bol visited the Punta Gorda Hospital yesterday, and positively identified the victim as her nephew Leon Bol.

Rita Bol explained that she recently learned that her nephew did not possess any form of identification and lived alone.

Leon Bol was found in the middle of the Southern Highway near San Antonio Village in the Toledo District. Police are looking at the possibility of the case being a hit-and-run.

A post mortem examination is pending.
