By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Two people lost their lives on Sunday after Tropical Storm Roslyn dumped heavy rains in Mexico, Reuters report.
Roslyn made landfall along Mexico’s Pacific Coast as a powerful storm before weakening inland.
A 74-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman died, Mexican authorities said.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) noted that Roslyn made landfall as a Category 3 Hurricane near Santa Cruz in northern Nayarit and was then downgraded to a Tropical Storm by the afternoon.
Mexican authorities confirmed that emergency officials were dispatched to the most affected areas.
Officials are now working to restore power in affected areas.
