Progresso draw 0-0 with Altitude; still in playoffs fight in Premier League of Belize 

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Progresso and Altitude played a highly intensive match in Week 13 of the Premier League of Belize (PLB) Opening Championship on Sunday but were unable to open the score at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk. The 0-0 draw, however, wasn’t a bad deal for either.

Altitude remained at the top of the standings with 26 points, two more than Verdes and four more than the San Pedro Pirates.

For their part, Progresso, who are in the fight for a playoff spot, now stand at 17 points, three more than Wagiya, who fell 0-2 to Verdes, and four more than Port Layola, who routedthe Belmopan Bandits 5-0. However, Progresso only have one game left, while the other two have two matches in hand. Progresso, who’s final game is against the San Pedro Pirates on Sunday in Orange Walk, will have a better idea of where they stand once Wagiya and Port Layola face off in their backmatch on Wednesday in Dangriga. In fact, after Wednesday, everybody will know if they are still in the fight and what they must do on the weekend to qualify to the semifinals.
