Belize lose final game at U-21 Central American Men’s Volleyball Championship, Guatemala win tournament

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize lost to Nicaragua 15-25, 17-25, 22-25 in their final game on Monday in the XIX U-21 Central American Men’s Volleyball Championship at the Alexis Argüello Polideportivo in Managua.

Preston Smith scored 9 points while Eleazar Mejía and best blocker Hakan Godoy both earned 8 points.

Our young men were only able to garner one win against five defeats at the regional tournament organized by the Central American Federations’ Association (AFECAVOL).

In the end, Belize finished in sixth position with six points.

Guatemala won the tournament with a 6-0 record. Nicaragua (5-1) were second and Panama (4-2) finished third.

Costa Rica finished fourth with a 3-3 record. El Salvador followed in fifth with two wins and four losses. Honduras were last with a 0-6 record.
