Fisherman fined over $300 for crack pipe

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City fisherman was fined in court this week for being in possession of a pipe that is used for the purpose of smoking drugs.

Jordan Ferguson appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court answering to a single count of possession of a pipe, to which he pleaded guilty.

He was fined $300, plus $5 cost of court which he must pay by December 30, 2022, or face two months imprisonment for default.

On Sunday, October 23, police on foot patrol in the vicinity of Water Lane saw Ferguson standing on the sidewalk and walking into a yard when they approached him. The officers conducted a search and found a plastic pipe measuring 2.2 inches that was adapted for the use of smoking crack cocaine.
