By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The World’s top messaging app, WhatsApp suffered a major outage this morning, CNN reports.
Users from around the world were unable to send or receive messages on the platform around 3 am today.
About an hour later, the service was back up for some users.
Data from Down Detector indicated that there were almost 70,000 reports of outages.
WhatsApp is owned by Meta, the global tech giant formerly known as Facebook (FB).
The company informed that WhatsApp has resumed service.
WhatsApp has over 2 billion users and as many as 31% of the world population uses it, the 2022 analysis by digital intelligence platform Similarweb said.
