San Pedro Pirates challenge Altitude in top Premier League of Belize clash

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Altitude vs San Pedro Pirates match has been postponed three times already, but it looks like it will finally be played today Wednesday.

“Let’s try this again. Fingers crossed,” said Altitude, out of a lot of caution, in a social media post. This is the fourth try and if it were not able to be played, the PLB has said that it will take it to Belmopan next week where either stadium has good drainage to the point that the game could be played under rain.

The match is set for 7:30 pm at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium.

Altitude are out to secure the top spot in the PLB while San Pedro are gunning to surpass Verdes again to recoup the second position. Altitude have 26 points while San Pedro have 22. Verdes have 24. The advantage Altitude and San Pedro have is that both have two games left while Verdes only have one.

Expect a super tight match tonight. As the games close on the ending of the season, the scores have gotten miserly low, what with the 0-0 draws in the last few encounters. Fourth place Progresso have held both San Pedro and Altitude scoreless in their recent matches.
