By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “Sheep cuts and lamb culinary preparation were the order of the day at San Narciso, as more than 15 participants took part in a workshop aimed at promoting a variety of ways to prepare and cook lamb,” said the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE).
“Facilitator Frank Padron shared tips, secrets and ways of cooking lamb for a delighted group of farmers and extension officers.”
The workshop was facilitated as part of the Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) Breeding Sheep and Goat Production and Guidance System Enhancement Project in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise.
Today’s workshop is one of many that have been facilitated by the Sheep and Goat Project.
The Belize-Taiwan Sheep and Goat Project Phase II, signed by the Governments of Taiwan and Belize in March 2020, has a budget of US$3 million and is being implemented during a four-year span. According to MAFSE, the Sheep and Goat Project seeks to help Belizean farmers to improve “the quality of sheep and goats, promoting the domestic consumption of sheep and goat products and to export these products regionally”.
