By Breaking Belize News Staff: A family of four from Cuba is being deported back to their home country for committing an immigration offense.
Today, 65-year-old, Beatrice Gomez Fabregat, 63-year-old, Maria Dolores Rodriguez Batista,37-year-old Betsy Alfonso Rodriguez, and 40-year-old, Pedro Pena-Pena appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s court charged for failing to present themselves to an immigration officer when they arrived in the country on Monday, October 24.
They all pleaded guilty and were fined $1,000 each which they had to pay forthwith.
The Immigration Department also applied to the court for a removal order, which was granted.
They paid their fines and are expected to be deported on Friday.
