International News: Top investigative journalist in Haiti is victim of armed attack

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: One of Haiti’s top investigative journalists, Roberson Alphonse was the victim of an armed attack on Tuesday, Yahoo reports.

While Alphonse was on his way to work, his vehicle was shot at multiple times.

Alphonse works for Le Nouvelliste, the country’s only daily and hosts its popular morning program Panel Magik on Port-au-Prince-based radio station Magik 9.

Alphonse sustained gunshot wounds to his arms.

The attack occurred on the same day authorities found the body of missing journalist Garry Tess. Tess used to host a political talk show in the city, and had been missing for several days.

The country continues to face severe humanitarian and economic crises.
