Man who kicked in ex’s door gets hit in the head with kitchen knife and charged for trespassing

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man’s aggression landed him in the hospital and in court this week after he was hit in the head with a kitchen knife during an alleged home invasion.

Twenty-five-year-old Aiden Rosado appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today, charged with one count of trespassing and one count of damage to property.

In court, he was wearing a headband and was in visible pain, so he was allowed to sit while his charges were being read to him.

He pleaded guilty to damage to property with respect to the front door lock and kitchen door lock and two doors that were damaged when he kicked them in to enter the complainant’s home but pleaded not guilty to the trespassing charge.

With respect to the trespassing, Rosado said that he was not trespassing as he lives on the premises and can provide proof of such to the court.

For his guilty plea, he was fined $300 plus $5 cost of court which he must pay by November 30, or spend two months in jail for default.

Reports are that the 23-year-old complainant was at her home speaking with the father of her child asking him to stay the night because she had been repeatedly abused by Rosado. While they were speaking, she said she heard Rosado shouting outside of her home and then loud noises. He had kicked in the doors to gain access to the house and that’s when the child’s father, who is a police officer, hit Rosado over the head with the handle of a kitchen knife.

She later filed a police report and requested court action.
