By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) is holding one-day Customer Service and Leadership workshops in Placencia and Punta Gorda next week.
BTB said the workshops under the theme ‘Defining Customer Service and Leadership’ are being offered to tourism stakeholders as a part of the Elevate Training Programme.
The workshops run from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The course will be conducted by Claudine Pohl-Hatt of Lemoneight Inc., a company based in Canada. Pohl-Hatt has already conducted similar interactive workshops in other parts of the country such as San Pedro, Caye Caulker, Belize City, Corozal and Orange Walk, and other countries such as the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Barbados, and Spain. BTB said the customer service and leadership training aims to increase the level of customer service provided to tourists across the tourism value chain.
BTB said the workshops are being offered for stakeholders in customer-facing positions such as accommodations, tour guides, tour operators, hotel staff, and restaurant staff.
Thirty spaces are available for the Punta Gorda workshop and 60 for the Placencia course. Since the spaces, BTB said they will be awarded on a first come first served basis.
