Former Minister of State for Health addresses sector ‘crisis’

By Aaron Humes: Dr. Angel Campos, former Minister of State for Health, says that nearly every section of the health sector is in crisis.

It is pronounced especially at the national referral hospital, Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH).

The statutory authority in charge of the hospital has been neglectful not only in terms of supplies (CT scan, drugs, and medicines) but in terms of human resources, leading to a heavily burdened staff that has little to look forward to in terms of pension and other benefits.

Dr. Campos calls on Minister of Health Kevin Bernard to stop his international jaunting and pay attention to what is going on at home, which may well result in unnecessary death.
