Hoteliers encouraged to sign up for BTB’s Hotel Amnesty program

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) is encouraging hoteliers to sign up for their Hotel amnesty program.

The Hotel tax amnesty program was launched on October 1, 2022.

The following categories of tourist accommodations are eligible: Apartment or Apartment Studio, Condominium, Vacation Homes, or Room Rentals.

The amnesty period is running for 3 months from October 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022.

However, the application period to be considered for the Amnesty Program will be from October 1-31, 2022.

All interested applicants must submit an application form for the Tax Amnesty Program, during this period.

Successful applicants will be required to submit a completed application form for a Hotels and Tourist Accommodation License and the required documents by December 31, 2022.
