Patrick Faber says he will run for Collet with or without the UDP

By Benjamin Flowers: United Democratic Party Area Representative for the Collet Constituency, Patrick Faber announced today that, despite the decision taken by the party to endorse another candidate for standard bearer, he will continue to offer himself up to serve the people of Collet.

Yesterday it came to light that the UDP rejected Faber as standard bearer in favor of Ian Jones who is to be endorsed. Faber stressed that, as a five-time elected area rep, he feels that the party’s decision to move him was ill-advised.

“I am a UDP and there is nobody who is going to run Patrick Faber out of the United Democratic Party. There is nobody who will run Patrick Faber out of the collet division except the people of Collet,” Faber said.

“I am a UDP, but if the UDP does not want me to run under their ticket I am not abandoning the people of Collet.”

He also noted that he survive his recall petition without approaching anyone to withdraw their signatures, alleging that current party leader coerced party delegates to do so. He also said that Barrow, in collaboration with John Saldivar made threatening phone calls and sent messages to delegates in order to have them withdraw their signatures.

“This Constituency is a UDP stronghold because it’s leader, yours truly, is a UDP. Where ever I choose to run, because run, I will run, I can bet you that my people will follow me,” Faber added.
