Belize Tourism Board conducts one-day Customer Service workshops for 142 stakeholders in Southern Belize, including Hokpins

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) is holding one-day Customer Service and Leadership workshops in Southern Belize this week at Hopkins, Placencia, and Punta Gorda aiming to reach 142 participants.

BTB said earlier that the workshops are being offered to tourism stakeholders as a part of the Elevate Training Programme under the theme ‘Defining Customer Service and Leadership’. The stakeholders targeted are people who work in customer-facing positions such as accommodations, tour guides, tour operators, hotel staff, and restaurant staff with the objective of increasing the level of customer service provided to tourists across the tourism value chain.

The workshops, under the theme ‘Defining Customer Service and Leadership’, will be held in Punta Gorda on Tuesday, November 1, at the Coral House Inn Palapa; in Placencia on Wednesday November 2, at the Hobbs Brew Barge; and in Hopkins on Thursday, November 3 at the Belizean Dreams Resort.

Total, the BTB said 142 spaces are available: 30 spaces are available for the Punta Gorda workshop, 60 for the Placencia course, and 52 for Hokpins. Since the spaces, BTB said they will be awarded on a first come first served basis.

The course will be conducted by Claudine Pohl-Hatt of Lemoneight Inc., a company based in Canada. Pohl-Hatt has already conducted similar interactive workshops in other parts of the country such as San Pedro, Caye Caulker, Belize City, Corozal and Orange Walk, and other countries such as the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Barbados, and Spain.

The workshops run from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
