Department of Youth Services cancels Youth Week activities

By Benjamin Flowers: The Department of Youth Services announced today that activities connected to the celebration of Youth Week have been officially cancelled due to the incoming Tropical Storm Lisa.

The DYS had a number of festivities planned for the week, which include district rallies on November 1, Volunteer Day on November 2, Youth Awards on November 4, and the National Youth Trade Show and Festival on November 5.

The DYS said that the events have been put off until further notice.

Tropical Storm Lisa is expected to make landfall in Belize on Wednesday, November 2. The National Emergency Management Organization has been activated and emergency preparations are currently underway countrywide.
