By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: A hurricane warning is in effect for the entire coast of Belize as Hurricane Lisa approaches.
As of 6 am, Hurricane Lisa was located about 100 miles East-Southeast of Belize City. Lisa is moving to the west at 15 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph.
The National Meteorological Service of Belize has also issued a flood warning for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Belize.
A small craft warning is in effect for strong winds and rough seas.
All sea vessels should seek and remain in a safe harbor.
The public is urged to keep informed and be prepared.
