U.S. Assistant Secretary of State says “ The U.S. stands ready to support Belize”

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The United States Assistant Secretary of State for the Western Hemisphere Affairs, Brian A. Nichols says that the United States stands ready to support Belize.

“The United States stands ready to support Belize with disaster recovery post-#HurricaneLisa as damage assessments are underway. #WeStandWithBelize ,” Nichols stated.

At this time, the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) is conducting assessments countrywide.

Hurricane Lisa made landfall in Belize on Wednesday damaging homes and electricity posts and caused major flooding in Belize City.

The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) is also assessing damages and clearing debris off our roads and highways.
