By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Premier League of Belize (PLB) met on Thursday and decided to ‘push back’ the semifinals by one week.
Third place San Pedro Pirates was scheduled to host second place and defending Champions Verdes at Ambergris Stadium on Saturday night at 7:30 pm while fourth place Progresso were to play Altitude in Orange Walk on Sunday at 4:00 pm.
These games will now be played on Saturday, November 12, and Sunday, November 13, respectively.
Considering the aftermath of Hurricane Lisa, the PLB opted to postpone the games despite being hard-pressed to finish their competition as planned due to the kickoff of the FIFA World Cup.
The Opening Championship will now finish on the weekend of December 3 and 4, one week later than slated.
