Taiwan ready to support Belize with US $200,000 for hurricane relief

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Hurricane Lisa ravaged Belize on Wednesday leaving many displaced, damaging homes and commercial buildings, and causing flooding.

The Taiwan Embassy in Belize says that Taiwan stands ready to support Belize.

“Taiwan stands firmly with our ally Belize and is ready to offer USD$200,000 of relief efforts to this beloved country after the impact of Hurricane Lisa. The government and people of Taiwan truly wish the people and families that are affected by the disaster in Belize a speedy recovery,” the Taiwan Embassy said.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) extended sympathies to all affected by Hurricane Lisa.

“MOFA extends heartfelt sympathies to those affected by Hurricane Lisa and is ready to assist Belize with recovery and relief efforts. The government and people of Taiwan stand shoulder to shoulder with our Central American ally in this time of emergency,” the Ministry noted.
