Police detain several people for triple shooting in Belize City; No one charged

By Benjamin Flowers: Police have detained several people in connection with a shooting in Belize City on Saturday morning, but no one has been formally charged yet.

Around 6:55 a.m. on November 5, Khalil Heusner, 27; Malique Humes; 26; and Ruben Usher, 21, were standing near the corner of Berkeley Street and Wagner’s Lane, when a shooter came and opened fire, hitting them all.

They were taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Officer Commanding Police Eastern Division Sr. Superintendent Hilberto Romero, told the media today that the shooting is the result of a rivalry between two groups in the area.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
