By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Government of Belize recognizes Taiwan’s contribution to Hurricane Lisa’s recovery efforts.

“Much appreciation goes out to our friend, Ambassador David Kuan-Chou Chien who was on the ground in Belize City today to hand over a check in aid of our recovery efforts,” said the Government of Belize Press Office on Wednesday.

“Taiwan has been a good friend to Belize, and we are grateful for them, and for all those who have come together to restore and rebuild in the wake of Hurricane Lisa.”

Inside sources at the Taiwan Embassy confirm that Taiwan has so far handed over USD200,000 to the recovery efforts.  The Taiwan Embassy had said a few days ago that it was “ready to offer USD$200,000 of relief efforts to this beloved country after the impact of Hurricane Lisa.”

“The government and people of Taiwan truly wish the people and families that are affected by the disaster in Belize a speedy recovery,” said the Taiwan Embassy in that social media post.
