More schools in Belize, Cayo District delay re-opening after Hurricane Lisa

By Aaron Humes: The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology has allowed several more schools to delay re-opening to later this week and early next week as a result of damage sustained from Hurricane Lisa a week ago today.

According to the updated list, the following schools were to return today, Wednesday: Our Lady of Guadalupe RC School (Belmopan); Ephesus SDA School; Bethany Baptist Preschool; Grace Primary School; St. John Vianney Primary School; Small World Preschool; St. Martin De Porres Primary School; Stella Maris School; Unity Presbyterian School; and Anglican Cathedral College.

Returning tomorrow, Thursday, are: Burrell Boom Methodist Primary School; Calvary Temple Primary School; Ebenezer Methodist Primary School; Sadie Vernon Technical High School; Pallotti High School; Saint Catherine Academy; St Therese R.C. Primary; Wesley College and Wesley Lower and Upper Schools.

Returning on Friday are All Saints Anglican, St. Mary’s Anglican Primary (Lower Division), and St Agnes Anglican in Belmopan.

Classes resume on Monday, November 14, for Gwen Lizarraga High School, Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic, St Luke’s Methodist; Queen’s Square Anglican and Bernice Yorke Institute for Learning; Pine Street Pre-School; Queen Street Baptist Primary and Belize Rural Primary at Double Head Cabbage.
