International News: 9 dead in shooting at bar in Guanajuato, Mexico

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Authorities in Guanajuato, Mexico are investigating a shooting at a bar that occurred last night and left 9 people dead.

According to Yahoo, 7 gunmen arrived at Lexuz bar in Apaseo del Alto in Guanajuato and began shooting.

Police are yet to establish a motive for the attack but shootouts in bars have become more frequent in Guanajuato, which has the highest murder rate in Mexico.

The victims included 5 men and 4 women. Two of the bodies were found in a car.

Much of the violence is blamed on a turf war between the Jalisco New Generation cartel and its rivals from the Santa Rosa de Lima criminal gang.
