By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize’s eight-man team is competing in four categories in the Pan American Masters Championship in Barrancabermejo in Colombia from November 11 – 13.
The Belize Masters team is competing in both the Individual Time Trial (ITT) and Road and Circuit Races.
Renan Matus is competing in the Men’s A1 Category for riders 30-34 year of age against riders from Colombia and Ecuador.
Phillip Burns, Roque Matus, and Ryan Willoughby are in the Men’s B2 (45-49) riding against cyclists from Colombia, Mexico, and Venezuela.
Dwight Lopez and Robert Liam Stewart are riding in the Men’s C1 (50-54) and are measuring up against riders from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Trinidad and Tobago.
The oldest Belizean riders, Fitzgerald Joseph and Michael Wagner Sr are riding against cyclists from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Venezuela in the Men’s C2 (55-59).
We don’t have any riders in the Men’s A2 (35-39), B1 (40-44), D1 (60-64) and D2 (65+), nor in the Women’s categories.
