Prime Minister reflects on milestones on 2nd anniversary in office; says improvement in infrastructure, investment in agriculture continues

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today on the 2^nd anniversary of winning the 2020 general elections, Prime Minister John Briceño addressed the nation saying that his administration has worked towards and seen unprecedented investments in rural development such as improved farm roads, water systems and infrastructure has seen progress and prosperity in the livelihood and resilience of our rural communities.

In addition, Prime Minister Briceño says that there is now significant investment in agriculture, greater food security and a bounce back in the agro productive sector.

“Even the grumpy IMF recently commended Belize’s recent budget performance, our drastically reduced public debt and the innovative ways taxpayer dollars are being channelled to those who most need a hand-up,” PM Briceño stated.

PM Briceño says that the Belize Blue Bond has become a global model and winner of multiple awards.

“And where the challenges require long term solutions – such as citizen security, the quality of education and health care – we have pursued both short term fixes and the foundation for long term transformation,” he added.
