Altitude go home with 2-1 win over Progresso in Premier League of Belize semifinal

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Altitude downed Progresso 2-1 at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk to take the lead in the Premier League of Belize semifinals.

Dellon Torres opened the scoring in the 54^th minute when he finished off a long pass across the entire box from Miguel García. But Torres injured himself in the play and had to be substituted.

Progresso fought back and tied the match in the 80^th minute when Dedron Baptist connected a powerful header off a corner kick.

However, Altitude roared right back in the 82^nd when Brazilian Aloisio Texeira hammered a loose ball into the net, past goalkeeper Luisito Cunil.

That sealed the 2-1 win for the southern club who now return home with the upper hand ahead of the definitive match next Saturday night at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence.
