Lemonal man pleads guilty to handling goods stolen from former Police Commissioner’s home

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 22-year-old resident of Lemonal Village was fined in court after admitting to being in possession of items that were stolen from the home of former Commissioner of Police Allen Whylie.

Curtis August appeared in court on Friday, alongside his attorney Orson Elrington, answering to two counts of handling stolen goods.
August immediately pleaded guilty to the offense and was fined $1,500 plus $5.00 cost of court which he must pay by March 31, 2023, or he will spend six months in prison.

Wiley’s house was burglarized on Sunday, November 6, 2022, whilst he was out of the country. Among the stolen items were two .9mm pistols and 11 live rounds of .9mm ammunition.

Police are still another person in connection with the burglary.
