International News: Ukrainians honor Taiwanese volunteer who died defending Ukraine

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Hundreds of Ukrainians came together to honor fallen Taiwanese volunteer, Tseng Sheng-kuang who died defending Ukraine.

On November 14, 2022, the Ukrainian army held a funeral for Tseng, who was also known as Jonathan.

Ukrainians joined in paying tribute to his memory.

“Our deepest condolences to the Tseng family, whose brave son gave his life to Ukraine’s fight for freedom. We salute this young Taiwanese volunteer’s sacrifice for the cause of liberty. Jonathan’s warrior spirit will always live on wherever people stand up for justice and integrity,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan said.

The Government and people of Taiwan and the Ukrainian community are saddened on his passing.

“Today we feel the pain of our brothers and sisters in Ukraine, who have lost so much in the course of the war,” the Ministry added.

The Ministry also pledged to continue to provide assistance to the Tseng family at this difficult time and pray that his soul is at rest.
