By Rubén Morales Iglesias: “CEO in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise Servulo Baeza continues his high-level participation at the COP27 summit in Egypt,” said the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (MAFSE) in a social media post on Tuesday.
“Recently he participated in a panel discussion where he emphasized the rich diversity and vulnerability of the agriculture sector in Belize, highlighting its 10% contribution to internal GDP; 18% employment of the working population; accounting for 80% of exports and its 90% dependence on seasonal rains for planting.”
Baeza has been participating in the climate change summit as a member of the Central American Agricultural Council (CAC) which sent a delegation of ministers and deputy ministers.
Prior to the diversity discussion, Baeza on Saturday participated in a discussion promoting the use of Agroclimatic Technical Tables to provide climatic information.
