Police Department issues official notice of passing of Corporal Shannon Middleton

By Aaron Humes: This afternoon, the Belize Police Department High Command and Minister of Home Affairs Kareem Musa formally announced the “untimely passing of our fellow brother, Shannon Dwain Middleton, Corporal of Police, No.581.”

Middleton was knocked down and killed near Mile 58, George Price Highway, while processing a crime scene with a fellow officer. The driver was hospitalized and will likely face charges.

The official statement remarked, “May his family, loved ones, colleagues, and friends find solace in the arms of the Lord. You have left us suddenly brother, but your dedication to the Government of Belize, the Belize Police Department, and the people of Belize will never be forgotten. Sleep on Mil-T until [we] meet again.”

Investigations continue and funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
