Belize calls for Taiwan’s inclusion at COP27 in Egypt

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Belize is being represented by the Minister of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management of Belize, Orlando Habet at the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Egypt.

The Taiwan Embassy in Belize thanked Minister Habet “for loudly voicing to support Taiwan’s participation in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) at COP27”.

During his address, Habet said that “Taiwan as the world’s 21^st largest economy, should be afforded the opportunity to share its technologies, resources, and expertise with the world in addressing climate change.”

The Taiwan Embassy in Belize extended its appreciation to the Government of Belize for its continuous support.

“The Embassy would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Government of Belize for the staunch support of Taiwan’s participation in international organizations. We are confident that, with the backup and friendship of our ally Belize, Taiwan can help more in the global community,” the Embassy said.
