Belize country office for CABEI coming soon

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: During cabinet’s session on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, cabinet approved for the introduction of legislation to establish a Belize country office for the Central American Bank for Economic Development (CABEI).

Belize has been a non-founding, regional member of CABEI since 2006.

CABEI’s mission is to promote economic integration and social development in the Central American region.

Since joining, Belize has benefited in various forms, including relief for hurricane Eta, Iota and Lisa.

Additionally, CABEI provided non-refundable support to the Government of Belize for COVID-19 relief measures.
