International News: Elon Musk tells Twitter staff to work long hours or leave

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Business magnate, Elon Musk has reportedly told staff at Twitter to commit to working long hours or leave, BBC reports.

According to reports, in an email, Musk sent to employees, he said that workers should agree if they wanted to stay.

Employees who choose not to stay would be given 3 months’ severance pay, Musk said.

Musk has also said that Twitter “will need to be extremely hardcore” in order to succeed.

“This will mean working long hours at high intensity. Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade,” he said.

Employees wishing to stay were told to click the link by Thursday to be a part of the “new Twitter”.

Musk recently announced that half of Twitter’s staff were being let go, after he bought the company.

The reason, he said, was because the company was losing $4m a day.
