Posted: Saturday, November 19, 2022. 11:19 am CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Friday, November 18, 2022, Prime Minister John Briceno kicked off his tour in Southern Belize.

PM Briceno met with students of the University of Belize, the 4th year students of Toledo Community College, and Julian Cho Technical High school in Punta Gorda.

“An opportunity to meet and chat with our young minds – leaders of tomorrow,” the Prime Minister said.

In addition, PM Briceno met with bus operators and their cooperative.

“The bus services are critical to the livelihoods of our people in the south, where communities are sparsely distributed. Getting to school, health care, and critical services rely heavily on the public transportation system. Our operators continue to be challenged by the cost of fuel and my Administration remains committed to finding solutions and working with bus owners and their cooperatives to resolve any challenges for the benefit of our people,” PM Briceno stated.

Today, the Prime Minister is attending the official ceremony and activities to celebrate Garifuna Settlement Day!
