Police Corporal Shannon Middleton to be laid to rest today

By Benjamin Flowers: Today, the Belize Police Department along with the family and friends of the late Police Corporal Shannon Middleton prepare to say their final goodbyes.

Middleton is being laid to rest in the Cayo district today, following a memorial mass at The Good Living Ranch Church in Camalote Village.

Middleton, 34, was according to Police processing a crime scene near Mile 58 on the George Price Highway near Unitedville when Luis Guerra knocked him down with his vehicle, ultimately killing him.

Guerra has since been charged with manslaughter by negligence; causing death by careless conduct; driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention; and without reasonable excuse and failing to provide a specimen when required to do so.

The management and staff of Breaking Belize News express their condolences to the loved ones of the late Corporal Middleton.
