By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Argentina were huge favourites to defeat Saudi Arabia in the Group C opener on Tuesday at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and it cost a football fan $160,000 (£134,000), according to British newspaper Independent.

Favourites don’t always win. Today, Saudi Arabia pulled off a stunning 2-1 win over the South American champions and one of the favourite squads to win the 2022 World Cup.

The unnamed fan placed his $160,000 on online betting platform TAB and lost it.
